*Z3C. NY School of Poets, Second Generation
Literature & Writing | Registration opens 8/27/2025 9:00 AM
The New York School of Poets, Second Generation, was a dynamic community of downtown New York poets during the 1950s and 1960s. Their diverse work was witty, urbane, conversational, experimental, and often outrageous. Many artists engaged with other arts—such as pop art, jazz, and film—and produced irreverent journals like Fuck You and Mother. Poets include David Antin, Joe Brainard, Bill Berkson, Ted Berrigan, Frank Lima, Bernadette Mayer, Alice Notley, Ron Padgett, Anne Waldman, and Bill Zavatsky.
