F2B. The Chamber Music of Claude Debussy (1862-1918)

Art, Music & Theater | Registration opens 2/25/2026 9:00 AM

This will be the last of a series of courses on the music and milieu of Claude Debussy. Chamber music played a distinctive role in Debussy's artistic production, being essentially reserved to his early maturity and the end of his creative life. The course will cover all of the composer's major chamber works, beginning with the remarkable String Quartet and ending with the three final sonatas (of a planned but never completed set of six) at the very end of his life. Several of the works will be performed live in class.
