F1B Discover Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Music and Writing
Literature & Writing | Registration opens 9/2/2026 12:00 AM
Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we create, communicate, and express ideas. This introductory course is designed for curious learners with little technical background who want to understand how AI is shaping two of the most creative human activities: music and writing. Through accessible examples and hands-on demonstrations, participants will explore how AI can compose melodies, assist musicians, generate lyrics, support creative writing, and help authors develop ideas, structure, and edit texts. The course will examine the opportunities, limitations, and ethical questions raised by these new technologies. This course will provide some insights into how humans and AI can collaborate in artistic expression. Contributors to the course are Hudson Valley–based composer/performer Sharon Klein and writer/poet Ken Follett, who will share their own experiences.
NOTE: This class will meet twice. September 11: AI and Music. September 25: AI and Writing.
