690-708 Unconventional Creativity: Altered Books, Take 2!

Class | Registration opens 2/9/2026 11:00 AM

Last spring, BILL students had such an enjoyable and creative experience learning about “altered” books that it seems to be time for a second take! This course will be an introduction to those new to “altered” books as well as an extension for those who previously took the course. Students will work with books they have selected to create unique “book art” projects as well as a completed “altered” book. Students will study a variety of altered book techniques as well as artists working in this unique medium. Throughout this course students will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for books as a medium of art making.

Subject to class interest and availability, the group will consider an “extracurricular” optional trip to NYC to visit the Center for Book Arts.

  • ADD'L MATERIALS/EXPECTED COSTS: An additional $20 fee per student for supplies has been added to the tuition cost for this course.

This course was added to the BILL spring schedule after the publication of the 2026 Winter & Spring Program Catalog. Please feel free to tell others about this added opportunity to Grow Your Mind. Thank you!
