Armchair Travel #4: Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Volga River with Thom Travis

Armchair Travel | Available (Membership Required)

In 2000 and 2015, Thom and Sue visited Saint Petersburg. As Thom says, "It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe for architecture and churches, best viewed from its canals. It also has fine museums, especially the Hermitage. Nearby are the wondrous palaces of Hofburg and Catherine."

Join
Thom and BILL as he recounts his visit of Moscow, Saint Petersburg and sites on a cruise along the Volga River. He will discuss the pleasures and disappointments of visiting Russia after teaching for a semester in Tatarstan.

This is a continuation of a slideshow given by Thom in January, but all new photos and experiences will be offered with this further look at the "tourist" experiences in the country.

  • The Armchair Travel slideshows provide our membership the chance to share a photographic journey to places, people and experiences, along with the stories and perspectives behind the encounters. You must be a current member to attend this free presentation.
