714 Finding Peace in Your Own Chaos

Class | Registration opens 8/10/2026 11:00 AM

Finding Peace in Your Own Chaos is a course about discovering inner stability in the midst of ordinary human struggle. It is based on a simple but challenging idea: while we cannot control everything that happens to us, we can begin to understand the ways we participate in our own confusion and resistance.

This course is not centered on self-analysis or revisiting personal history, trauma or personal quirks. Rather, it is an exploration of self-knowledge based on the idea that experiencing our essence allows us to understand we are not separate from one another. This experiential knowing can have a profound impact on our lives.

With the course leader, participants will explore practices and perspectives that cultivate inner peace. Sessions will incorporate a variety of approaches including meditation, reflective discussion, music, selective readings and contemplative exercises. Participants will also engage with the writings of a teacher whose work focuses on inner peace and human understanding, as Hear Yourself: How to Find Peace in a Noisy World by Prem Rawat is read and discussed.

“My hope is to weave these elements together into a course that encourages reflection, connection and greater clarity about the nature of happiness, peace and what it means to live well… [to offer] a thoughtful and welcoming space to explore questions together through readings, discussion, reflection and shared life experience.” – Rosaria Gabriele

Participants will be expected to experiment with some practices outside of class. Some writing will be required.

  • REQUIRED TEXT: Rawat, Prem. Hear Yourself: How to Find Peace in a Noisy World (2021).
