The Adirondack Mountains constitute a massive sanctuary spanning 6 million acres in Upstate New York. Designated as a park larger than Yellowstone, Glacier and Grand Canyon National Parks combined, this “forever wild” landscape offers over 3,000 sparkling lakes, dense forests and 100 prominent peaks. The park contains 46 rugged summits that rise above 4,000 feet and dense boreal forests where the scent of balsam fir lingers in the cool air. It features unparalleled recreational opportunities, such as hunting fishing and hiking. It is also home to quaint villages, an Olympic legacy, and reminders of “Gilded Age” grandeur, when America's wealthiest magnates—including the Vanderbilts—built sprawling, rustic "Great Camps.”
