739 The Healing Process: A Different Perspective and Experience
Class | Registration opens 8/10/2026 11:00 AM
From Jesse Weaver comes this 8-week course* “designed to build a different perspective around pain and the healing process and provide a new way to engage how we see and approach our own process or someone else’s. We will discuss current paradigms around these topics along with providing a basic framework for the beginning of self-practice.”
Come with questions and a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches to your own health and well-being. Apply what is discussed in various movements and exercises. There will be talk about the broader context in applying the information shared to foster a greater sense of peace and safety with ourselves, family and the world.
Participants are expected to bring to class a journal and something to write with, and to wear clothing conducive to movement.
*This class will meet eight times: 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12 and 11/19. There will be no class on 10/1.
- Note: The exercises practiced in class are not so much for fitness as for awareness. They won’t be vigorous and most will be done while seated. There may be some explorations/experiences offered that can be done on the floor, and there will be times when participants are asked to close their eyes during mindfulness practices. The focus will be on breathing and control through very simple ranges of motion to allow individuals to experience particular muscles and to understand the relationship between position and movement.
