732 The Art of the Stitch: Beginner Embroidery

This course begins with the philosophy of embroidery. Although perceived as a tool for meditation, embroidery has also been used as a means of feminine rebellion and in the preservation of the human experience.
Begin your stitching adventure by learning about hoops, thread and needles. Then progress to straight-line stitches with ample time to practice. Additional stitches will be added. The final class will focus on a small project to incorporate your newly gained skills.
Pamela Kreis
PAM KREIS holds a master’s degree in applied science. With a bachelor of science degree in medical technology, she recently retired from the Geisinger Medical Clinical Laboratory, specializing in microbiology and molecular microbiology. Her degree in education with certification in biology and earth science enabled her to also teach middle and high school science in person and for a privately owned online school. Her course load included physical science, earth science, environmental science, biology, honors biology, AP biology and AP environmental science. Pam has been doing embroidery for many years with more time to plan projects since she retired. Teaching embroidery will be a new adventure.
