Learn how to develop a pattern, based on a favorite photo, which can be used to create a stained glass panel. In the first class, we'll examine examples of panels created from photos, and participants should bring two or three photos for discussion and evaluation. In the second class, participants will outline the main features of their selected and enlarged photos, considering the constraints of working in glass. In the third class, we will develop a final pattern or cartoon, ready for use in a stained glass workshop. Class participants must have previous experience in working with stained glass.

Linda Parsons, Ph.D., is a retired microbiologist who has been creating stained glass works for the past 15 years. She was a former member of the Seneca Artists’ Loft, and has had pieces accepted in juried art shows. She has created pieces on commission using original designs or designs developed from photos. As Class Assistant in Kathy Carroll’s stained glass classes, she has enjoyed being part of the creative process as the students develop their first panels.
