Spartanburg, colloquially known as “Sparkle City,” is a city that doesn’t just create goals, but achieves them. Spartanburg is “always doing.” Get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with Spartanburg’s dynamic city center on a guided walking tour of the Historic Downtown. Learn the history of the area as well as new developments and efforts to maintain the small-town vibe in the midst of the spectacular growth around the Upstate. Then, visit the Spartanburg Regional History Museum and take a step back in time with artifacts and expertly-crafted displays that pay homage to the textile industry and rich history of the region. Spend time on your own for lunch and exploration in downtown before visiting Hatcher Garden, the public botanical garden and woodland preserve nearby Spartanburg’s city center.
