Interest in Bob Dylan has recently exploded due to the movie A Complete Unknown. This course will explore his remarkable career as a poet, a singer and an artist. We will listen to his music, ponder his message (if we can find one!) and learn about this mysterious figure who has been called the most influential musician of our time. Come prepared to share your own experiences and encounters with Bob Dylan.
Charles Blakely is a graduate of Erskine College, Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, and Duquesne University. He has taught at the University of South Carolina and Presbyterian College, and previously taught courses in the history of rock and roll music for Clemson OLLI, Furman OLLI and for Anderson University’s Lifelong Learning Institute. He is a child of the 60s, went to many rock concerts, and has a large record collection.
