Are You a Compassionate Carnivore?

Most people love their companion animals and would not allow an animal to be hurt. Surprisingly, however, many of us are allowing that to happen just by our habit of consuming meat. Join us for an eye- opening presentation on the realities of factory farming. Are we aware of what we support when we purchase most grocery store meat? This presentation provides a comprehensive understanding of how factory farming impacts not just animals, but also our environment, our health, and perhaps our moral consciousness. The presentation covers:

• key aspects behind large-scale animal agriculture

• the conditions animals endure in factory farms

• the significant environmental footprint of factory farming

• the environmental consequences, including pollution and resource depletion

• public health concerns, such as antibiotic resistance and food-borne illness

• ethical dilemmas and potential alternatives to factory farming
