From Ringing to Remembering: The Science of Hearing, Tinnitus, and the Brain
In-Person Class | Registration opens Monday, December 15, 2025 9:00 AM
Our ears and brains work together in remarkable ways—and modern science is uncovering just how powerful that connection is. Hearing loss doesn’t just affect conversations; it influences memory, focus, and even long-term cognitive health. Tinnitus once dismissed as “just ringing,” is now understood as a complex brain-based condition with real treatment options. In this session, Dr. Alexandra Tarvin will dive into the latest research on: the auditory system’s role in cognition and aging; brain mechanisms behind tinnitus and sound perception; evidence-based approaches to hearing technology and therapy; and how supporting your hearing supports overall brain health. You will leave with a deeper understanding of how hearing and brain function intertwine—and how new discoveries can improve quality of life.
Dr. Alexandra Tarvin, Board Certified in Audiology, specializes in hearing impairment, tinnitus, and auditory sensitivity disorders. She provides comprehensive education on audiological care and since 2018 practices at Elevate Audiology.
