In so many ways South Carolina is a fascinating state; we do things our own way. Take our government, for example. No other state has county delegations that consist of legislators exercising control over county affairs and school districts. Also, compared to other states, our college tuition is very high and our gas tax is very low. Here’s another head-scratcher: our property tax triples the tax burden on identical houses if one is rented while the other is owner-occupied. And that’s just for starters!
