Craft your Own Handwarmer Mug
In-Person Class | Registration opens Monday, August 17, 2026 9:00 AM
Hand warming mugs are the perfect accompaniment for the cooler weather to come. Fill your mug with something hot and wrap your hands around your new mug to take out the fall chill. In our hand warming mug class, the instructor will go over basic pottery hand building and slab building techniques. Each person will learn how to make a mug in this two-day class. The second day will be to glaze your mug. During the glaze day part of class your instructor will share lots of glazing tips to create a one-of-a-kind look.
Chelsea Bester began her pottery journey 25 years ago by taking beginner wheel classes at a community arts center in Oregon. Since that time, she has broadened her pottery interests to include hand-building and glaze-making. Her specific passion lies in pressed botanical slab construction, where she infuses her creations with natural elegance. Her artistic endeavors have been fundamentally influenced by the complex and sometimes haphazard outcomes of glaze and its production. She's been a pottery instructor at the Holly Springs Center for roughly five years and is a founding member of the studio's management team.
