China and It's Neighborhood

Course | Registration opens 3/9/2026 7:00 AM PST

This course will offer a fresh look at China, including everything from changing
cultural trends to evolving security perspectives, and then situate China within
the neighboring region. The first part of the course will focus on China, Taiwan,
and Hong Kong, and then the second part will open a broader lens to look at
Japan, South Korea, North Korea, and Mongolia. Aside from domestic issues and
concerns within each of these countries, we will look as well at regional
challenges and potential flashpoints for geopolitical conflict. There are many
moving parts to the dynamics of this region, and this course will look at each of
them in great detail.
