What could be better, after experiencing "The Wonderful World of Stephen Sondheim," than tackling Hal Prince, the other Broadway giant? Hal Prince died at 91 in 2019. His remarkable career is the perfect companion piece to Sondheim. Prince won a record 21 Tony awards.

Please join us for this remarkable journey. Take a minute, watch this video and we are sure you will be “buying your ticket” to our class this spring. This will give you a preview of what we will all discover together in The Wonderful World of Hal Prince.

Format: Class members will work in teams of two for presentations on musicals and operas. There is no assigned reading for the class. Classmates will watch the assigned productions in their home.

Resources/Expenses: Many documentaries and books are available as well as internet sites for gathering information on each of the plays. The plays are accessible through multiple online sites for nominal fees.

Coordinators: Pamela Romano and Pat Moriarty, both retired Educators, and Arthur Richter, a retired Importer – all long time members – have joined together once again after having coordinated many successful LLC courses such as “Making A Difference,” “Made in Rhode Island,” “Marc Chagall” and “The Wonderful World of Stephen Sondheim.”

Pat Moriarty is a retired Providence teacher who volunteers for several non-profit organizations. You may have seen her ushering at various theaters or stoking the braziers at WaterFire. She is an experienced co-leader.

Arthur Richter, an importer and designer, has led and/or co-coordinated six LLC courses.

Pamela Romano, a retired Ed Administrator, who dabbles in acrylic painting, has co-led one course. She had a 37-year career as an Education Administrator for the Fall River Schools. She also taught at local colleges and is involved in managing finances for local foundations.
