“We come to short stories seeking life – or at least some vivid representation of it....an exquisite verbal bonsai of a moment of another’s life and consciousness, presented with concision and purpose” – Lorrie Moore, editor of the anthology, 100 Years of the Best American Short Stories.

Each week we will discuss two of these stories published between 1920 and 2015.

Format: Participants will lead the discussion of a story selected from one of the decades covered. Active class participation is expected. Participants are advised to sign up for a story as early as possible, as stories will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The discussion leader for each story will develop a list of questions to guide the discussion and email them to the Course Coordinators for distribution.

Resources/Expenses: 100 Years of the Best American Short Stories, edited by Lorrie Moore and Heidi Pitlor, is available from alibris.com, used for $6.00, new for $14.00, plus shipping.
