What is one of the best cameras available today that is easy to use, always at hand, and loaded with magical editing tools that are fun to use? Your cell phone! Join with LLCers who are experimenting with cell phone photography and cell phone photo editing.

Our activities: Going on photo shoots together and sharing our photos with a congenial group.

Our tools: Our cell phones (Apple or Android); Google’s Snapseed editing app; Apple’s Photo editing app.

NOTE: Familiarity with a cell phone editing app is necessary.

August 29 – Zoom
September 12 – Photo Shoot
September 19 – Temple Beth-El
October 3 – Photo Shoot
October 17 – Temple Beth-El
November 7 – Photo Shoot
November 21 – Temple Beth-El
December 5 – Photo Shoot
December 12 – Temple Beth-El

Format: On designated dates listed, we will go on a photo shoot. Then on the designated Temple dates, we will meet to share photos. Each month one volunteer will decide the photo shoot locale or activity and coordinate the photo sharing. Responsibilities will rotate among all participants. The first Zoom session will be an organizational meeting.

Resources/Expenses: No text. Participants will share links to online materials that demonstrate Snapseed and iPhoto editing tools.

Margaret Lawrence has been a management consultant and writer. Margaret started cell phone photography in LLC’s iPhonography class. She is now an enthusiastic cell phone photographer and photo editor. In addition, she has coordinated several LLC courses including last fall’s course on women.

Linda Shamoon taught courses on writing in electrotonic environments at URI. She has co-coordinated over 20 courses, including numerous iterations of the popular Concerts and Conversations course, and currently heads the LLC Technology Committee. Since starting in LLC’s iPhonography class, Linda is also an enthusiastic cell phone photographer and photo editor.
