Painting with the Masters
Zoom Video Conference | This program is completed
What do the Masters have to teach us about painting? This class is for painters who want to learn from more experienced artists like Matisse or Bonnard and many others. Assignments will be given, and each class will be devoted to critiquing the work that class members have done in the previous week. This term we will focus on color, with an emphasis on how abstraction informs realistic work. You can paint realistically or abstractly. Your choice! We will have class on Zoom. You can be a beginning painter or more experienced. We all learn from each other, whatever our level of expertise. Any painting media is accepted. Welcome all painters!
Format: This course will begin with an overview of all of our artists, followed by a weekly focus on one artist. Each week, we will select an artist and classmates will choose an image to paint, creating an artwork in the style of that artist to share during class the following week.
Resources/Expenses: There will be expenses associated with buying art supplies. A supply list will be sent to those enrolled.
