Power of the Creative Arts to Nourish Body, Mind, and Spirit

Class | CLASS FULL - Email info@lifelonglearningcollaborative.org to be added to the waitlist.

You are invited to explore how physical movement, visual journaling, sound, and storytelling can support and enhance individual and collective wisdom and promote joy. In this class, we will use the creative arts to discover ways to heal the body, calm the mind, and enliven the spirit. Authentic self-expression will be allowed to have a safe outlet during this supportive class time. Artists have always known what science is discovering: that creating a visual image and exploring movement can produce physical and emotional benefits for the creator and those who view it. You don’t need to be an artist or even believe you have any “talent” to tap into the healing power of the arts, or to take this class!

Format: The coordinator will guide the class in exploring movement, visual journaling, storytelling, and other techniques. Participants will explore the languages of the arts individually, in pairs, and in the large group. No presentations are required.

Resources/Expenses: Reading materials will be distributed in class. Each participant should purchase a 12x18” art drawing notebook with blank pages. (You can buy such a notebook at Blick Art Materials, 200 Wickenden Street, Providence for $11.11.)
