Class | CLASS FULL - Email info@lifelonglearningcollaborative.org to be added to the waitlist.
The short story genre rests on a long and distinguished history. We will explore that history as we read some of the world’s greatest short stories from the 19th and 20th centuries, stories by masters of the genre, stories that have stood the test of time.
We will refresh our acquaintance with and/or be introduced to some of the world’s finest writing. The selected stories range from authors such as Anton Chekov to H. G. Wells to Saki to James Thurber.
Format: Participants will present a story of their choice, giving a brief introduction of the author and providing five or so questions to guide class discussion of the story.
Resources/Expenses: 50 of the World’s Greatest Short Stories (2015), edited by Terry O’Brien, can be ordered at local bookstores for $29.00 and at Alibris.com new for $15.00 or used from $3.00. (Alibris supports independent bookstores.)
