Everyone needs a laugh, especially during these increasingly tense times of political and socio-economic chaos. If you are a fan of the iconic Mel Brooks, the off-beat Coen Brothers, or even the zany Marx Brothers, then you will want to participate in this class. Our film choices poke fun at the normal conventions of society and stop and make you look through a slightly bent prism at our world. Movies may include JoJo Rabbit, The Royal Tannenbaums, and Me, Myself & Irene.

Format: Each week we will screen one thought-provoking, hilarious, or just plain funny movie at home and then discuss it in class. One or two class members will collaborate on presenting one movie, each leading the discussion for one segment. Each class member will be a discussion leader. Questions may be sent out ahead of time to help the class focus on particular aspects of the movie or an alternative class exercise may be offered. A slide presentation is not required.

Resources/Expenses: Films are available from the usual streaming sources. A small fee may be charged. The library also carries some of our films.
