Detective Novel Book Club: Chapter 1
Class | Registration opens 7/21/2025 9:00 AM
NOTE: There will be ten monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month through June 2026.
Join us in our inaugural year of detective fiction read in a full-novel format. We plan to be international in scope, travelling the world to explore the genreās many facets and methods of detection. Our detectives will range from the cerebral to the no-nonsense to the disarmingly quirky, each detective operating according to his or her own methods. Some of the books may be set at different times in history, further enhancing our enjoyment of the genre. Class members will participate in the selection of books to be discussed.
Format: Each month we will start the class with a brief bio of the author and then delve into a group discussion of the featured novel. Presentations, either individually or with a partner, are welcomed but not required.
Resources/Expenses: All books will be available for borrowing at a local community library or purchase on the internet or in neighborhood bookstore.
