Writing a Memoir (ZOOM)

Zoom Video Conference | Registration opens 7/21/2025 9:00 AM

Another session of Writing a Memoir is offered in-person at the Shriners Center on Thursday PM.

THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR ZOOM.

Meets six times on Sep 9 & 30, Oct 7 & 21, Nov 4 & 18.

Have you always wanted to write your life’s story but never seem to get started? This class is devoted to encouraging you to take those steps. You will have an opportunity to share your stories with your fellow writers. Classmates will provide encouragement and suggestions. Writing a memoir provides a way to save your family stories for those who will someday be grateful that you did. Sharing these stories can help us connect with others who have similar experiences. Finally, memoir writing may have a therapeutic effect as you revisit painful or complicated events from your past.

Format: Members are expected to participate in writing and sharing up to 1,200 words about every other week. Optional writing prompts will be available to those who want them. Please note this class will be very similar to the class held in person on Thursday afternoons. People who have mobility concerns, or who have moved away, or who are stuck on the waitlist for the Thursday class may want to try this option.

Resources/Expenses: None.
