You Really Should Hear This
Class | Registration opens 7/21/2025 9:00 AM
Join us as we explore the lesser-known, and too often overlooked composers of the present and the past. Some of these musicians were the most famous composers of their day; some had very significant musical careers that are now unknown to most of us; and others were supremely influential for more well-known composers.
This is chance to expand and enlarge your listening playlist and can serve as a jumping off point from which other explorations can begin.
Format: Each class will feature two presentations. Participants will select a composer and give a presentation - some biography, but mostly selections of works to hear. A list will be sent out well in advance from which to choose. No technical or musical knowledge is needed. Curiosity, and an ability to maneuver through YouTube are all that is required.
Resources/Expenses: None.
