Have you ever been at a loss for words in a conversation? Ever “fallen on your face” while speaking to a group? If you answered yes, then this high energy, on your feet, active and creative workshop is for you. Through a variety of theatre games, exercises, scene projects, journaling and more, we will explore the principles and dynamics of Improvisational Theatre and apply them to life skills.
Format: We will spend our time exploring creativity, building trust, with forward thinking and community spirit throughout our workshop time. We will learn together and from each other through these exercises. Each week, after class, students will keep a journal where they can collect their thoughts and respond to their work in class. In keeping with the theme of ‘improvisation’, there will be no other weekly assignments nor presentations required.
Resources/Expenses: None.
Coordinator: Michael Walczak is a creative arts educator who has worked in the theatre as an actor and director in professional and educational settings. Michael studied Theatre at the University of Detroit and New York University.
