LLC's Cultural Committee invites you to travel to Westerly, RI for a docent-led tour of the newly opened Westerly Museum of American Impressionism.
The Museum’s collection of 150 paintings celebrates American Impressionism from the 1880s to the 1920s, showcasing artists who captured the movement’s signature interplay of light, color, and atmosphere. With a focus on New England painters, the collection includes artworks by renowned artists such as Childe Hassam and John Singer Sargent, alongside paintings by lesser-known talents who merit greater recognition. Thoughtfully curated, these works reveal how American artists embraced and reimagined Impressionism, forging a distinctively American interpretation of the movement.
No transportation will be provided. We will contact information to registrants so that you can form carpools if interested. The Museum is located in the Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly and parking is available on site. The site is flat and fully accessible.
The tour will start at 11:00 am and last 60 to 90 minutes. We ask that you arrive at the museum by 10:45.
LUNCH ON YOUR OWN: We will provide a list of eateries near the museum and in downtown Westerly for your reference.
NO REFUNDS.
