Crime Fiction Book Club

Zoom Video Conference | Registration opens 7/27/2026 9:00 AM

The Crime Fiction Book Club meets 10 times on the 3rd Tuesday of each month through June 15, 2027.

This is a hybrid class that also meets in-person at the Shriners Center.
This registration is for the ZOOM class.
Join us for our second year of crime fiction read in a full-novel format. We will continue to read books whose stories take place in a variety of settings, both geographically and occasionally historic. Our protagonists will face conundrums that will require insights ranging from the cerebral to the no-nonsense to the disarmingly quirky, each detective operating according to his or her own methods.

Format: The class will be offered in a hybrid format and will meet monthly. We will start the class with a brief bio of the author and any other relevant background material, and then delve into a group discussion of the featured novel. Presentations, either individually or with a partner, are welcomed but not required.

Resources/Expenses: All books will be available for borrowing at a local community library or purchase on the Internet.

Coordinators: Mark Guyer is a former official at the NIH. He has coordinated many LLC courses, none of which have had to do with biological research. Debra Gardner is a retired disability attorney who is getting her toes wet co-cordinating her first course. She is interested in just about everything and is an indiscriminate reader.
