Building Presentation Skills, Building Confidence
Class | Registration opens 7/27/2026 9:00 AM
NOTE: Participants are strongly urged to attend the free PowerPoint Webinar on September 28 at 10 AM.
Would you like to improve your collaborative learning skills (doing a presentation, leading a class discussion, becoming a more active class participant)? If you are a beginner at presenting, want to improve your skills, or just want to gain more confidence, this course is designed for you.
The course will cover a collaborative skills toolkit including research, organization, presentation design, speaking, and fielding questions.
Format: We will showcase the “How To” of giving a presentation as well as class practice on different aspects of interesting presentations. Experience shows that improving your skills and building confidence must include learning, but more importantly, practice. There will be assignments for you to practice at home. Class members will build confidence by giving short presentations on subjects of their choice, using the tools and technics learned during class. We will comment on and learn from each other’s presentations.
Resources/Expenses: Purchase of the PowerPoint application for your home computer is strongly recommended if you do not already own it as part of a Microsoft software package installed on your hard drive.
Coordinator: As a former executive in the computer software industry, Olin Thompson has designed corporate and sales presentations. His past includes years of public speaking including presentations for both large and small audiences. He is an award-winning public speaker.
