Event | Available (Membership Required)

Join the LLC Cultural Committee for a two-for-one trip to nearby Attleboro, MA for a self-guided tour of the Attleboro Arts Museum and a docent guided tour of the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum.

These museums are located one mile apart and both include ample parking.

TOUR #1: ATTLEBORO ARTS MUSEUM
86 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703
10-11 AM Self-guided tour

Attleboro Arts Museum presents rotating exhibitions and community programming in its Ottmar Gallery. Founded in 1923 and relocated to a larger downtown space in 1994, the museum occupies roughly 3,500 square feet of gallery space with 14-foot ceilings. The exhibit we will see is a juried art show featuring many art forms. All of the works will be auctioned off on November 7. This is the biggest fundraiser for the museum and is a popular show.

TOUR #2: ATTLEBORO AREA INDUSTRIAL MUSEM

42 Union Street #2, Attleboro, MA 02703

(less than a mile away)

11 AM-noon(ish) Docent-led tour

The Attleboro Area Industrial Museum is housed in an historic 19th-century brick foundry building. Built in 1899, the facility originally housed Handy & Harman before being transitioned to a museum dedicated to preserving the region's rich jewelry-making and manufacturing heritage. This portion of the tour will take about an hour depending on the number of questions and interest from our group.

LUNCH ON YOUR OWN:
