F25-0923A TOUR OF RIPPON LODGE: FROM THE 1700'S TO TODAY
Tour | FULL (Membership Required)
Rippon Lodge is one of the oldest known homes in Prince William County. The original house was built in 1747 and was occupied until 2000. It was then purchased by PWC, restored and opened for tours in 2007. The house is situated between Neabsco Creek, the Potomac River, and the historic King’s Highway (present day Rt. 1). Rippon Lodge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes approximately 43 acres, a cemetery, formal gardens, and walking trails. The historic property staff will lead a tour interpreting the history of the house, the owners, and the region from the mid-1700s to the 1970s. Following the tour, visitors are welcome to stroll through the grounds, trails, and gardens and enjoy the stunning views of the Potomac River for boat and bird watching of all kinds.
NOTE: There is a ramp from the parking lot and five steps into the first floor of the house. The second floor is accessible only by climbing 16 steep steps and is optional. Visit the Rippon Lodge website for more information.
Please register only if you are fairly certain you can attend. Fee of $5 paid in cash at the door.
