As we age, our hearts also age. In this class, RN Lynette Bickley will detail cardiac changes that we may experience such as decreased efficiency and strength, valve problems, and the increased risk of atherosclerosis. Discussion will also include basic heart anatomy, cardiac risk factors, and red flag symptoms, as well as the chest pain umbrella (chest pain, chest tightness, and chest heaviness). She will answer the question, “Why have I been referred to a cardiologist?” You will come away with more knowledge about the heart and be better informed and prepared, if and when you need to consult a physician.
