F25-1202A HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Class | Available (Membership Required)

This class will be a chronological journey backwards and forwards in time to examine the development of English from its prehistoric origins, through Old and Middle English, and finally to Modern English and its many dialects. Dr. Douglas Wulf will explore ways in which English as a language has developed, including in its phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. We all know how to speak English–come hear him explain the history of what we say every day!
