A review of the rise of civilizations and the importance that adequate energy played in facilitating the progress of society. Emphasis will be placed on the interconnectedness and complexity of modern society as it relates to energy usage. The pros & cons of the "Green New Deal" and "Net Zero by 2050" [aka "the energy transition"] will be addressed.
