Although the Convair B-58 "Hustler" bomber had a relatively short operational career and never "fired a shot in anger," it remains a uniquely capable aircraft in the U.S. Air Force history. Based upon "B-28 Blunder: How the US Abandoned its Best Strategic Bomber" and the experiences of a pilot and a navigator friend of mine who both flew the B-58.
