A Program from our partner RISE Learning for Life:
In the aftermath of World War II, the U.S. and some of its allies created the current “Liberal International Order” in the hope that this would prevent war and create stability around the world. The ’America First Policy’ of the current administration and/or the ‘Multi-Great-Power Strategy’ that derives from the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648 could pose threats to the current system. Sources for this course include the Great Decisions 2025 article and Henry Kissinger’s book, World Order, published in 2024, in which he discussed these issues.

Instructor: Dr. Bonnie Saunders - Teaches history at Glendale Community College. Her Ph.D. focused on U.S. policy in the Middle East, and she published a book on a CIA plot to overthrow the Syrian government in 1957. Request the zoom link from the instructor: Bonniesaun@aol.com
