Lessons from WWII - Navajo Code Talkers
Class | Available (Membership Required)
This class explores the Navajo Code Talkers that helped change today's world. The Navajo Code Talkers were Native American Marines who used the Navajo language to create an unbreakable code for secure U.S. military communications during World War II. The idea to use the Navajo language as a military code came from Philip Johnston, a World War I veteran who grew up on a Navajo reservation and was fluent in the language.
