The Arizona Criminal Justice Center and the Area Agency on Aging will present on the medication misuse happening in our older adult populations in Arizona. Important points in this presentation are: definitions and consequences of Rx misuse and abuse, how to talk to your doctor and pharmacist (with lists of important questions to ask), how to talk to your doctor about pain and management expectations, inexpensive medication options, and safe storage and disposal of RX medications. They will bring envelopes for participants to take home to help dispose of outdated or unneeded medications.
