Textile Techniques Through Time and Cultures

Class | Available (Membership Required)

These five sessions are a visual review of the cultural history of 5 units of textile techniques: Embroidery/Quilting, Weaving, Resist Dying/Printing, Knit/Crochet/Non-woven, and the last being a presentation of my own work that follows these techniques. Each presentation includes visual samples of these techniques from various global cultures and time periods - ending with the current use of these techniques in contemporary art forms by artists known for using these techniques and materialities.
