When was the last time you read The Great Gatsby? Maybe decades ago? Let’s breathe new life into F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel, and pair it with Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley – the first of her five “Ripliad” novels – in which young sociopath Tom Ripley wreaks havoc from New York City to Italy. This may seem like an odd couple, but we will explore how Gatsby and Ripley enrich each other – and us – in delightful ways.
