Topic: Ellis Island: The Story of Early Immigration in the United States

Join in to learn about the history of Ellis Island and the reasons people immigrate to the United States. We will discuss Angel Island Immigration Station, the west coast center for processing and detaining immigrants from mostly Asian countries. The speaker also will share several related artifacts with students.

Speaker: Kay Little

Kay Little earned her degree in elementary education from East Central University in Ada, Okla. She taught in public schools, homeschooled her sons, taught history to classes of homeschoolers and served as the director of the Bartlesville Area History Museum for nearly seven years. She now owns her own business, Little History Adventures, through which she gives local, Oklahoma and U.S. history presentations to groups of all ages.
