Carol Schmitz
Carol Schmitz, PhD, has recently retired from a career in academia that included teaching at the college level for more than 30 years. In addition to teaching every semester, her experience includes 128 peer-reviewed presentations at regional and national conferences for professional associations. Since retirement, she has developed an encore career as a historian and has published articles in newspapers or museum newsletters about the Chisholm Trail, the 1893 Land Run, family histories and Oklahoma pioneering women. Dr. Schmitz earned an undergraduate degree in organizational behavior and a master’s degree in higher education from Oklahoma State. Her PhD in those same two disciplines is from the University of Southern California.
