This course covers essential creative writing principles for fiction, nonfiction, biography and poetry, including reading strategies, character creation and plot basics. Participants will explore resources like The Elements of Style and Self-Editing for Fiction Writers to improve their writing. Between sessions, students complete a short writing assignment and receive constructive feedback from both the instructor and peers. The course also provides guidance on publishing options, from self-publishing to finding an agent and preparing submissions.
