Carol James

Carol James retired from careers in banking, law and real estate. She now teaches Mah Jongg through private classes or previous OLLI sessions. She first learned the game while traveling the U.S. and Canada and living full-time in a high-end motor coach. While in Florida, she learned that the majority of the snowbirds there played Mah Jongg, which was prevalent in New England, especially the New York City area. After learning the game from the northeasterners, she started teaching Mah Jongg along Florida’s Treasure Coast and then later, here in Oklahoma. She now lives in Tulsa with Josie, a Wire Fox Terrier. She has two grown children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
