Satisfying your intellectual curiosity, our Monday series offers something different each week.

  • 5/19: Preventing Falls

Falls are a significant cause of injury, surgery and hospitalizations in senior adults. This session will provide valuable insights on how to reduce the risk of falls. This includes providing advice on how to modify home environments to prevent falls and instruction on activities and exercises to improve balance and mobility. We will share practical tips, exercises, and lifestyle adjustments to help seniors maintain their independence and lower fall risk.

  • 5/26: Holiday (no class)

  • 6/2:  Building Your Second Brain: The Analog Knowledge System That Produces Genius-Level Work

In a world overflowing with digital information, the ability to capture, connect, and develop your own ideas is a powerful skill. This hands-on workshop introduces the Zettelkasten method—a simple yet brilliant analog note-taking system that helped sociologist Niklas Luhmann publish over 70 books in his lifetime.

You’ll explore how this system supports deeper thinking, better writing, and lifelong learning. Through practical exercises, you’ll learn how to create and connect notes in meaningful ways and discover why writing by hand enhances understanding and retention.

Whether you're a student, writer, researcher or lifelong learner, this two-hour class will give you the tools to start building your own “second brain”—a system that turns everyday thoughts into lasting knowledge.

  • 6/9: James Webb Telescope

The James Webb Space Telescope has changed our understanding of where we live: from sending us mind-blowing images from space to identifying carbon dioxide in the liquid oceans of Jupiter's moon Europa to discovering massive galaxies in the very early universe. We will discuss how and what we have learned about our universe from the Webb telescope so far.
