In this class, we’ll follow his life as a train-robbing outlaw, discuss the gun that killed him and the lawman who fired the fatal shot, and review McCurdy’s postmortem career as a carnival attraction. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction! Our fantastic instructor, Michael Williams, has been interviewed by the authors and documentarians of the new musical and is considered an expert on this subject matter!
Michael Williams
Michael Williams is a curator at the Oklahoma Territorial Museum in Guthrie. He is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma History/Museum Studies program. He has appeared in numerous documentaries and TV spots speaking about events and people in Oklahoma history. An avid trout fisherman and reader, he is always quick with an entertaining story. He lives in Oklahoma City with his two sons while continuing to find engaging ways to teach and share Oklahoma’s history.
