Following the Writing Workshop format, each class starts with a short lesson about some aspect of the writing craft. Participants then have time to write on a topic of their choice and conference with class members. We cover a variety of genres and styles in a friendly environment. Jeanne Strining has worked as a teacher and school administrator in the Webster and Brighton school districts. She has taught the Writing Workshop method both in her classrooms and to adults as a trainer. Now that she has had to take a break from travel, she is enjoying being in Rochester and becoming involved with Osher.

Pat Black is a registered nurse/technical writer/computer trainer.

Jim Hooper has a background in teaching government human service workers including supervisors and managers.

Diana Lockhart is a lover of words, sucker for superior sentence structure, and adorer of alliteration.
