W34Th Five Documentary Films To Provoke Reflection and Discussion (In-Person)

In-Person | Available (Membership Required)

[NEW COURSE] As a class we will screen five feature-length films, first watching each as a group and then deeply discussing that film the following week. The films are complex, and they engage the human relationship to animals and the ethical relationships between people in challenging situations. The films are Grizzly Man, Finding Vivian Mayer, Blackfish, Buck, and Touching the Void. In addition to watching the films and discussing them, we’ll touch briefly on how to watch a movie as well as formal elements like cinematography, production design, and editing.  Audio/Visual, Discussion, Lecture
